Is this the Sign of Recession ? CA Campus Placement Aug-Sept 2012 Data

ICAI had organised campus placement for newly qualified CA's in the month of August - Sept 2012. The statistics of the said campus placement is not very exciting. Only 518 candidates gets job offer out of total 9382 registered candidates. A comparative chart of last 2 campus placement is given below:
